About Books

Written in 1951-52, the Jeewan Britant series did not see the light of the day before the late 1960s. Prof Sahib Singh had worked extensively on the history of Gurbani, and the Gurus as both a historian and theologian. The work on the life history of Guru Sahibs was done during the writing of his other book ‘Gur Itihas’, which is a compiled history of nine Guru Sahibs.

The Jeewan Britant series has largely been drawn from ‘Gur Itihas’ and expanded as independent books on respective Guru Sahibs. The current book, the first in this series, is a life history of Guru Gobind Singh, which was brought to the readers to cherish and draw inspiration from by the trusted pen of Prof Sahib Singh.
